Hire4ce Custom Sourcing “POD” Model

THE “POD” MODEL, one of the most successful sourcing models implemented by top recruitment organizations, utilizes what is referred to as the “pod” model. Derived from a combination of the batch process approach utilized in just‐in‐time manufacturing and in the specialized U.S. government’s intelligence analysis teams, this model capitalizes on the small‐team approach to dealing with massive amounts of information.

Sourcing pods consist of three or more team members with highly specialized sourcing skills, supporting one major type of candidate recruitment. For example, a pod could consist of one Internet researcher, one candidate developer, and one candidate manager who would split all of the relevant channels and share responsibilities for generating a pipeline of engineers for the organization. In this model, the Internet researcher would focus on generating “passive candidate” leads using cutting edge Internet research methods. A candidate developer would then convert “passive candidate” leads into “active candidates” and vet them through the applicable recruitment screening processes. The candidate manager would focus on sourcing resumes from the job boards, the internal applicant tracking system, referrals, and other sources of warm leads that could easily become contacts and candidates. The candidate manager becomes the point of contact to the traditional HR recruiters, who in turn are the end customers and who ultimately will bring the engineering candidates into the rest of the process, from interview to hire.
